research into documentary types

 Their are 6 different documentary types. 









poetic documentary's:  A poetic documentary is a sub genre of documentary. they often have no narrative. They rely on sound images and juxtaposition to create the mood. 

expository documentary's: These types of documentary often come from one specific view point. this type of documentary has interviews and it has illustrative visuals with a "voice of god".

participatory documentary's:  this has a clear relationship between the film maker and the subject. the film maker is often on screen and asking questions and expressing their opinion. 

observational: this documentary type often allows the viewer to observe things as they occur and develop their own opinion on the subject they often do this by using the 'fly on the wall' approach where the maker of the documentary does not intervene with what is happening but just lets things happen naturally. 

reflexive: this type of documentary focuses on the relationship between the filmmaker and the audience they show the truth 

performative: it is a story but it can expose the factual points of the story. these documentary often follow the story of the filmmaker and it is deeply personal to them self.
